The World Burn

She sat there with her face in her hands.

Watching the world burn.

Feeling the world burn.

Knowing there was nothing she could do.

She sat there.

Corruption of governments leading people astray.

Leaving people to starve.

Taking from the weak…

She sat there.

And she watched the world burn.

Felt the world burn.

Shrapnel became the boogie man.

Suicide, ammunition in the enemy’s loaded gun.

Rapists were the nightmares.

And she sat there. With her face in her hands.

And watched the world burn.

Felt the world burn.

Heard the world burn.

It punctured the aneurysm of her swollen heart.

And she bled. Slowly.

Sobbing.

As she sat there.

And watched the world burn.

Felt the world burn.
